Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer onto the Core Automation team to architect the agentic AI systems reshaping how the company operates. The team is rebuilding customer support and compliance for an AI-driven world: intelligent agents, orchestration frameworks, and the measurement systems around them.
What you'll do
- Architect and build agentic AI systems powering compliance automation and operations, from agents through orchestration and guardrails
- Own the technical direction for production AI systems across cross-functional teams
- Build primitives that scale automation across the company
Requirements
- Staff-level backend engineering experience on large-scale distributed systems
- Practical experience shipping LLM-backed or agentic systems to production, not just prototypes
- Comfort setting technical direction in a fast-moving, high-bar environment
Remote - USA. Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only: expect quarterly in-person working sessions. Base salary $218,025-$256,500, excluding equity and bonus. Full details and application at the link.
