Arcadia is seeking a talented Software Engineer to help our team solve complex problems and change the way patients are cared for in the United States. You will work within one of our Product teams to play a major role in shaping the healthcare analytics technology landscape. This is an opportunity to be part of the healthcare industry’s rapid transformation and become a leader as healthcare technology and cloud infrastructures advance.
The candidate will need to be committed to learning new things and taking direction from senior staff regarding best practices in software engineering.
What Success Looks Like
In 3 months
- Acquire a general understanding about the application’s architecture and interactions with other services
- Gain facility in accessing production systems, system logs, and metrics in order to triage issues
- Successfully completing tickets for implementation of product features
In 6 months
- Update documentation related to support issues
- Participate meaningfully in product feature refinement
- Participate in code reviews for colleague’s commits
In 12 months
- Independently take ownership of issues from triage to code fix/deploy
- Demonstrate expertise in one or more areas of the application
- Participate meaningfully in architecture/design sessions
What You'll Be Doing
- Triage and support of incoming issues related to production systems
- Developing product features, documenting test cases, and creating test automation code
- Working with Product Manager and senior staff to refine product features using an agile software development methodology
- Participating in code and design reviews
What You'll Bring
- BS, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on software engineering experience
- 4 - 6 years of experience
- Strong object-oriented fundamentals
- Consistency with regards to organizational skills and habits
- Experience with modern JavaScript web application frameworks, RESTful APIs, and relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with code repositories such as Git
- Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, SNS, SQS, S3, Aurora, IAM roles and permissions, etc.)
- Good software engineering hygiene: source control, test-driven development, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment
- Commitment to testing, refactoring, learning new skills, and improving upon existing ones
- Openness to receiving feedback and constructive criticism on designs and code – we work as a team
- Ability to challenge the status quo
- Would Love For You To Have
- Experience with AWS, Terraform and Terragrunt
- Experience with Relational Databases
- Experience with CI pipelines
- Familiarity with Auth0/OAuth
